6.9 Responding to concerns about sexual abuse by a young person with a disability
Disabled young people should be supported to remain safe as their sexuality develops; to understand which behaviour is appropriate in which settings and to understand about consent. However, there may be occasions where professionals may become concerned that sexual behaviour between two young people is abusive, exploitative or coercive. In this event it will be useful to seek information from Children’s Social Care.
